Dogs.

I've decided that after I graduate this August(YES!!!) that I am going to get a dog. Yep! A dog!! I can't wait. :) I've thought about this quite a bit, and call me crazy, but I really want one of these!:

Yes! A Great Dane! Still, in reality that probably won't happen...we'll see. I think they're soooo cool though!

I will probably be getting a Seppala Siberian Husky(like my sister Sadie's dog) or a Catahoula. What are these dog breeds you ask?? Well I get that question a lot, so allow me to provide some pictures and such(ahem):

Seppala Siberian Sled Dog(Huskey)

I was looking and I thought I had a picture of Sadie's dog, but I guess I don't. She named him Shadow. He is such a cool dog!! And smart too. Sometimes too smart for his own good haha. Seppala's are the main sled dog used up North.

Catahoula

Growing up, my family always had a Catahoula. They are excellent family dogs, you can train them to hunt if you want, and they are good cow dogs too. :) They are originally from Louisiana where they are used to hunt wild pigs and herd cattle. They also have webbed feet so they can swim and walk on marshy land...interesting eh?

Anyways, tell me what you think. Any other dog breeds that you like or have heard of? I'm up for suggestions! Later.

I think they are all very cool dogs! I haven't heard of Catahoulas (sp?) before, but they look like a mix of American Bull Dogs and German Short Hairs. I used to work at an animal hospital and I don't remember Great Danes or Huskies to have many health problems. Just with big dogs you have to worry about their hips as they get older, especially Great Danes. By the way, most of the Danes we saw were owned by bachelors about your age. ;)

TJ- I have always loved big dogs, especially Great Danes, so if you get one, you'll probably be seeing more of me and my kids than you wanted to! You can name him Scooby :)

hmm interesting. Remember that my sister has a border collie catahoula? :) She's very smart and lots of fun, and pretty cute too. The only kind of dog I like is a Great Dane, it is just unfortunate that they usually don't live super long because they're so big :) But they are FANTASTIC! I also like the husky idea, I always liked Shadow, and the Hansen's had a husky too and he never seemed to smell bad.
